Still enough time on day 1 to do the shrink if they wanted to. There’s a lot of white space in the schedule after HR and the shrink only takes 20-30 min.

Legally don’t the candidates have to have the CJO in hand to be interviewed by the shrink?

the 500 question psych test before the shrink can take some time if they determine you need to re-take it.

I’m pretty sure this is true. I’ve been told You cannot use a psych evaluation as an exclusion method in an interview, but you can make it part of pre employment screening.

-have new hires take their photo on day 1 during down time.

-have them do their drug test at a local facility (like quest) after they get home.

-eliminate the shrink

Even faster, submit a selfie before starting class, no dog ear filter allowed.

True, might have to tweak it. (Why did I take two psych tests anyway?).

There is some white space on day 1 though. Would be nice if they just did away with the shrink but I doubt they will (probably some lawyer/liability reason…Delta gets a discount on insurance or something like that)

Prior 121 people would probably do ok with this. Prior military/other, it seems like a mistake. I thought the 2 week indoc was lacking, especially with the lack of any real ground school at IQ.

My class only it was a question a day on ramp, telling us they don't understand, and how do they- delta, get rid of ramp freq. We repeated that horse**** every day after day 2 for 2 weeks. Indoc was nice to tell me how perfect the airline is and how family-blah blah blah- so a waste of time considering all factors.

How about we get rid of half the sims/ftds. Most of us passed out first airline training with 8 sims and ftds total and after 2 sims you werent getting it or weren't trying (or complaining about ramp frequency still) they'd just flush you.

Edit: i forgot, more organic wide body growth! They reinforced that once a day in indoc. Lets get rid of the happy horse**** and just get the damn lessons in and get out on the line quicker earning real money instead of STUPID training pay.

I think I know what you’re saying and I saw it too. It’s not practical, but it would be good to have sidebars for those new to the industry and let the others go.

I’d definitely prefer more practical stuff and less cheerleading.

No matter how it changes somebody is going to fuss either about getting shorted or being talked down to. It’s the natural state of pilots I suppose. Guilty.
