CJO July 27, pre clearance email Aug 9
I was told to expect an Indoc invitation e-mail this coming week with an expected Indoc date of “Early Oct”….I emailed the onboarding team proactively and that’s the response I received with regard to timing
Red,

Any updates with your timeline? I’m about a week behind you on CJO timing.

How long would you say before a new hire could hold ATL on the 7ER, 73N or 320…rough ballpark?

Most likely either the very next AE or the one after that.

Just note that you will have to spend 1-2 months in your new hire assigned domicile until you can transfer.

Example: AE just closed this week. Worst case a person is hired this last Tuesday, the day after the AE closes. So now it is middle of September before you bid. That bid will have the majority of conversions in December. An X factor is how long it actually takes you to get through initial training. Some people take 3 months before IOE is complete and others are shorter. So if you started this week and go quickly you'd be hitting the line by the end of September, maybe early October. So you'd basically have October and November in your original base before your transfer would kick in for December. Or if you can't quite hold ATL on that first AE then that would add another month. Or if you get the longer training footprint you might not hit the line until basically November and only have 1 month stuck before the transfer.

This is good info. Thank you. I start next week and want to end up based in DTW.

I don’t know if I wanna know the answer to this or not. But while you’re sitting around waiting for your aircraft training to start do you get training pay? Or just not paid at all.

Barring a leave of absence or a sick call or something like that, Starting day 1 of indoc, you are paid 2.5 hours per day for every day until OE completion, regardless of how you are utilized during that time.

So yes, you get paid the entire time even if waiting for training.
