it wouldn’t matter if we took delivery of them tomorrow. No one’s gone through the required MAX training. I don’t even know if we have a footprint outlined for it yet.

We do. We staffed and planned to have the Max in service this year. That's why the 73 was so fat across the board all year. They gave the Max training to, at the least, APDs. There was a plan to put it into a CQ cycle, maybe one extra sim day, in the 9 months before expected delivery

how many sims do we have? Curious how long it’ll take to get everyone on that fleet qual’d.

9 months. 73 sims are virtually unused. We have trained almost noone other than CQ since spring

In a pinch they could probably do it faster. Everyone is going in their early month and I doubt it takes 2 hours in the sim. Two crews per sim period

it’s been a few years since I did MAX training but it was fairly in depth. Things could’ve changed since then and every program is gonna be different. Obviously they later hammered home MCAS vs regular speed trim and some of the other differences. I dumped all that stuff when I learned French.

If there is one thing we know about Delta is they would never take a short cut in training. That's why we still do such extensive classroom training every year

They could do it by base like they did in the MD-90 years ago. Only qual to base that the flying is built into rotations. I think the MD-90 was only CVG and one other base maybe DFW or SLC initially.

Again the word has come down from on high, efficiency. Nothing more. They're going to run this op lean, very lean and extract as much efficiency out of our group we can stand.

No one can answer that question definitively until an announcement is made that classes are resuming. Not sure hour far back we’ve got CJO holders but I’d imagine it’s been since this spring if not earlier.
