Isn’t it 20 or 50% of the month, whichever number is less? So they can’t flow if there’s no OTS.

I think everyone is over-complicating it. No new names will join the list until January. At that point the top 9E flows will join the list and bid for their aircraft, but not start indoc for 3 months. Then whenever OTS hiring stops we’ll still have 9E flows in their own small indoc class for 3 more months.

Yeah, I was just opining on what might explain the report above that supposedly some 9E folks were told they were getting Oct seniority numbers. But Whoopsmybad brings up a fair point. 🤷‍♂️

They receive an opportunity to flow letter about 3 months prior to their flow date, which makes sense if we are about to start hiring in January.

I fly mostly international so backside of the clock flying isn't a big deal as most of the lines are augmented. I will have equal distance between SLC and SEA. Would take either if given the choice, however, I have a feeling my preferences will fall by the wayside as my last 4 starts is in the bottom 25%.

Looking for sanity checks on the new hire drop thread is why I posted here.

I had a very similar start to you back in 2023. Terrible seniority SS# towards the bottom. The bottom end tends to go 717/220. Ended up stuck on the 717 commuting from the west coast for a year. The good news is our jumpseat policy does take some sting out of commuting. The other good news is the 220 could reach you and you’d have the pick of SLC/SEA shortly after. Either way if you do end up on the 717 it can be a fun jet to fly with mostly younger dudes/dudettes and your seniority grows quickly on a junior jet.

Decent shot you get sea or slc 220 in a drop fall to you. I think SEA 220 were the bottom three slots in my class.
