Hmm. June 19 TT e-mail. No AON. What the magic word?

Could someone explain the acronyms and steps in the process?

Sure.

TT = Top Tier email. This email comes from Delta Pilot Recruiting that says you are competitive for selection, please patiently standby for a link to the online assessment. Current wait times are 2 days - 4 months.

TT can also mean Total Time if discussing your resume.

AON = Online assessment. The actual letters A-O-N are for the company that produces the online assessment. This is the second step (3rd if you count the app itself) of the selection process and includes mind games including spatial reasoning, reaction time, complex control, and the much feared personality assessment. Once you receive the link you have 7 days (I think) to complete. Remember the day you receive it is day 1, don't delay.

If you pass the online assessment, then you get an interview invite, current wait time is 8-10 weeks.

Clear as mud?

Planning

If I understand correctly, when going to Indoc you already know your airframe. Do you leave Indoc knowing when you will begin class/simulators or when do you find that out?

Follow up, after completing all simulators, do you have an expected IOE start date? Or is it a blanket "you will be assigned we'll give you X amount of time notice prior to your first flight"?

You are asking a lot of if/or questions. They are all good questions. I think the answer is: All of the above.

You will learn how to check your sim schedule during indoc, which will give you a clue to your sim schedule. The sim schedule can vary however.

As for IOE, again it greatly depends on actual schedules. When availability of trips, instructors, and your place in the queue align, you will fly IOE. It's all fluid.

If you need time off after Sims. Make sure the first thing you learn to do is to ask for days off for OE in icrew. I usually ask for 2 days off after sims, that gives me enough time to go home, leave my things, repack and rest a little bit.

It also depends how far you live from ATL. My flight home is in the same time zone, if you live out west, you should ask for 3 days to give you some wiggle room.

Delta Virtual Pilot Recruiting Event

I've got a Delta Pilot Virtual Recruiting Event coming up. Looking for any info on what to expect for the meet and greet video call. Thanks!

As a data point:

June 13 Top Tier and still waiting for AON invite.

135 PIC
1020 TPIC
2200 TT

Was told on solid authority that the summer hiring slowdown is most likely to blame.

Nothing more to do but update regularly and prepare.

Well, apparently all you have to do is post on here and have positive thoughts and you’ll get an invite. Received AON invite about 10 minutes ago.
