What are the mitigating factors? What did you do wrong on the checkride to cause the failure? How much time has passed since that event? In the grand scheme of things it is pretty minor.

Also, I would not bring it up on your own. The interviews are jam-packed with other types of questions, and you never know what their line of questioning will be. Let them ask about it if they want to.

Yeah it was quite minor, and I was young and just cracked under pressure, had a poor showing that day. It’s the only smudge I have so I’m not too worried. Fully prepared to explain it. I appreciate all the info from everyone.

And there are a plethora of applicants who don't have any "corrections" to their application after they got an interview. Awfuly suspicious to "remember" a resume blemish the second you get an interview offer.

The "fog a mirror" days are gone.

Why do you feel the need to dump on the guy? Twice?

OP: you got your answer. Don’t sweat it, but be prepared with an honest answer. And I’ll bet you never make that oversight again…

I spent 20 years wondering how I was going to explain hooking my nav check in the T-1 to the airlines 😂

Shucks, anyone can misidentify the "A" and "N" quadrants coming off the cone of silence.

”SP failed to complete the low level entry checklist before entering the low level. Otherwise good sortie, UNSAT overall.” 🌮 🌮 🌮 for all my friends.

I was sort of in your situation. Had a commercial stage check that didn't go great 15 years ago. I went around on the first power off 180. I always thought you could once. Examiner ended up being wrong, but documented as such. Didn't catch that one until tagging my logbook with color coded tabs.

though, I had already hit the yes button anyway for a stage check bust I was pushed into right after two months out sick.

At the very beginning of the individual interview they give you an opportunity to say anything before they start into the questions. I owned up and said I found this a few nights ago and feel terrible. They asked about the event, what I did to fix it, and what I learned. At the end, they had me hand write it on the back one of the sheets and sign the addition. Most chill interview I've ever had, and had a lot of laughs.

Default New Hire Classes

Is there anything published / rumored regarding expected new hire class dates? I received a CJO earlier this year and have received an email stating my background check has been completed.

I just wanted to return to this subject just in case someone else finds themselves in familiar territory. I got the CJO overall extremely pleasant experience. They didn’t even bring it up, in fact they didn’t even bring up any negative aspect of my app (tickets and what not). At the end I told them about it and they laughed and said they would have brought it up if they wanted to talk about it. Can’t wait to start wearing the hat!
