Reserve for Dummies

If I do ever start bidding a line, I'm sure I'll be even more lost with the nuances of a Reg pilot.
Yeah, eventually most of the NN and SA's get incorporated into the SRH. It can sometimes be tough to find the thing your brain is telling you it read in one...

if your rotation extended into an on-call day I would expect to see L4 pay but not L9 pay. Though I might argue that finishing past 4 hours on your current X day should net L9 pay but not the new day.

highly recommend saving every union email specifically from the Negotiating or Scheduling Committees. Make a folder of PDF copies for easy reference. Yes it’s in the SRH eventually but sometimes it’s nice to have a smaller document.

PB days should not be applied prior to the completion of the rotation. If they are then you run into the issue of reroute pay that is not due for being rerouted into your payback day. Proper fix for that is to remove the pre-applied PB/PR and place it at the new end of your rotation IAW the PWA. Read Scheduling Alert 20-13 or SRH rev.18 page 51-55 with particular attention to the last paragraph.

When on a gs with the last day of the trip as an on call day, is rr pay above guarantee?
my time card only gave me 12 hours of gs pay.
it was a 21 hour trip with the “on call” day blocking 8 hours. There was 6 hours of rr pay and “add” pay of 4 hours but the gs number never moved. Seem too little

23.S.11., 23.S.12.: … will be given nine (13) hours free of duty upon their release at the completion of their rotation. (Thence a/b)
23.S.13.: … will begin upon the pilot’s release by Crew Scheduling
23.S.14.: will begin upon the pilot’s release at the completion of their rotation …
That means they are applied when the rotation is done. The kicker is since it’s manual they find it easier to do it when they add the rotation. Hence why you need to call to update the X day start when you finish if your trip blocks in later than scheduled.
once this process is automated ( hahaha ) I would expect no PB days to be on the schedule until release time.
as far as sit pay, look at 12.S. The magic words are “pay, no credit.” Sit pay is on top of reserve guarantee as well. SRH rev. 18 page 234 for the expanded discussion on sit pay.

I know how they do it; I’m just saying the letter of the contract states the X-days will begin as per the following:
23.S.11., 23.S.12.: … will be given nine (13) hours free of duty upon their release at the completion of their rotation. (Thence a/b)
23.S.13.: … will begin upon the pilot’s release by Crew Scheduling
