You're getting wrapped around the axle on my highly unlikely and specific scenario but the point remains. Whether it’s an extended mechanical or captain profit sharing doesn’t care that it’s 95 degrees in the back until D8, people will look to you for answers/vent their displeasure. If you want to be a brand ambassador for everything that could potentially go wrong, knock yourself out. I’d rather toss on a quarter zip or polo and eliminate myself from the equation altogether. I’ve been on a DH in uniform multiple times where I have the earbuds in watching a movie and I get a tap on the shoulder. Not really something I want to perk up and deal with on my fourth reroute of the trip heading to a min rest overnight.

Well today was a fun one. Didn’t have time to change out of the sub commander outfit and FL is a dumpster fire due to JAX center staffing. So I’m surrounded by angry JB customers and within 1 min of sitting down had my first customer asking why I’m not flying them to see Mickey. Nice man, I give him my full opinion on anything he wants to hear. Totally sold him on buying some bit coin. We say good luck to each other as his meter ran out and it was time for customer number 2. He was just wanting to b!tch to someone and I fit the bill, you know being in uniform. It was more pleasant sport b!tchijg that pilots are well versed in so it was an easy discussion.

So, to all you uniformed hero’s out there being the punching bag for us or whatever carrier you happen to be waiting to board on, well done. Thank you for what you do.

 

That's nuts. I've commuted for years in uniform and I've never once been approached to sport b. Of course, I furrow my brow as much as possible
