Ironically, as stated before, just paying double time (over guarantee) like line holders would make them more valuable for a majority of pilots save a minority in the WB seats.
You sure about that?

NB GS = 5.15 hours above reserve guarantee + banked PB
Banked PB = 8-10 hours (high credit 1 day with EDP, a really good one is 11+ hours)
Total = 13-15 hours

OR double pay = 10.30 above reserve guarantee

The second seems like less than the first.

I'm 72% on the ER in NYC and I have a hard time averaging over 7 hours per PB day. Yeah, the 12 hour HNL day ones are out there, but hard to wash them.

But they were for sure worth more than the 4:35 next september I'm getting for them now.

In addition, PB/PR days during the month are unmatched by any other airline.

Annual raises do 2 things. The first is attempt to counter/preempt inflation. The second is (at least sometimes), to advance the ball further down the field with a genuine raise. Every contract must get the payscale back up above inflation, else we are effectively taking a pay cut.

Following bankruptcy, C19 finally got inflation adjusted pay back to the high water mark of C2000 levels. I'm not interested in ever giving any of that hard-fought ground back.

Partially agree to an extent, at least for OOBWS. But again, the quid has to be huge. Like massively huge. They need a deal far worse that we do.

I once had a conversation with my WN neighbor. We were talking about GS and Rolling Thunder. He stopped me and said, "Wait, you get your days off back??" I replied, "you don't???"

I really don't care what other airlines do, I'm not interested in working my day off and get no day off back. Hard NO on ever giving back PB days. Reserve will absolutely suck (and yes, I know it's gone way downhill in recent months).

I’m flexible and willing to see as many angles as possible. I’m typically not a hard line guy. But PB days are my line in the sand. I don’t care for double pay. I want my days back.

Exactly. Getting a PB day in addition to single pay above guarantee is a hallmark of QOL over pay. For me, PB days are literally not for sale. They could offer 500% over guarantee and I'd still be a "**** NO". Time is quite valuable to me.

yep. Pb days were versatile in qol improvement for reserves. Some stick it in the middle of work week to make themselves unusable, or you can pay yourself an extra month of pay by washing a few.

Mgmt can’t have them both, saving money, while blaming us for greedy for using aomething we negotiated. They wanna get rid of pb days, there better be some significant RESERVE improvement.
