Update…on the iPad I could call in sick for the next rotation (odd since I was already ‘sick’) but unable to make the well call. Duty Pilot had no ideas…Pilot Assist unable to help since it’s not a recorded line. Eventually did it the old fashioned way…called scheduling

Thats what the company tried to blame it on, but my rep said that the scheduling folks directly advised the company not to do it that way some months ahead of time, but the company’s mind was already made up to go down that road. The open time mess up is completely unrelated to the sick call functionality.
Sometimes you wonder who at the company is actually in charge.

Just a simple prompt on the VRU is all we needed. The VRU always knew when you were out sick if you called so instead of transferring us to scheduling just add an option to select well and then be done. This whole MiCrew thing is a mess, especially if you are on reserve.
In the meantime, it’s a contract violation.

It seems that the MiCrew automated system only works for line holders who are between trips to call SICK, and call WELL before another rotation (also during 'off' days).
If you are on RES, don't bother with MiCrew to call out sick OR well(it flat-out doesn't work); just call CS.
If you are a line-holder and called out sick mid-trip, don't bother trying to call in well via MiCrew. MiCrew never registered you as being out, so it can't figure out how to show you 'well' or 'OK' again; just call CS.
What a pain. I'm with ancman and Fangs: it's a contract violation...or not...

And here's the rub for me. Automated sick call and well was required to be implemented in March for ALL pilots in March, an entire year after DOS. Yet, there are still a large percentage of pilots whose contractual rights are being violated. Where is the MEC? Seems pretty black and white to me

Speaking of calling in sick, is there anything in the contract that prohibits pilots from adjusting their schedule (via PCS) while they are currently out sick? I didn't see anything in sections 14 or 23 that prohibits it, but they're both long and I just as easily could have missed it. I don't see the company being a big fan of people changing their schedules while they're currently out on sick. Is there a source somewhere, either way?

Being sick now has nothing to do with you swapping a trip next week.
