And add to that chasing down paying the improper variant pay in several ongoing instances. It's not the pennies I care about, it's the principle of the thing.

they aren’t discussing this in good faith or from a position of experience.

Fangs highlighted what I was talking about. And although you besmirch me in your post above, you should know I voted YES for C19. The soft pay items would benefit a majority of the pilot group and that's what I'm about - whatever benefits this group is going to be supported by me despite my personal opinions or thoughts on the matter. My concerns about some of the soft pay items though have come to fruition.

I am still hoping our association is going to escalate this. I have faith they will. Time will tell.

Default Switching Hotels

Anyone have any luck switching from Manhattan to the short JFK layover lately? I want to switch for a DH DV8 early the next morning, but its been years since I have had to do this. I imagine its dependent on room availability.

Thanks Scoop

I haven’t tried specifically in NYC, but I’ve tried multiple times in other cities. Always no

tried multiple times in LAX, always a hard no. Cheaper hotel in LAX vs a 1 hour+ drive to SNA for a more expensive hotel on the same layover and flight to SLC either way. Called multiple days out to get it changed. They had to comply with the PWA, my a$$.

Always a hard no. They quit doing that around 15 years ago.

I’ve been able to do it when late inbound and it’s clear my threat of a possible fatigue call would impact the next day. Doesn’t sound like your situation.

I've done it a few times in the last year, but more often than not, they deny it.
