Question. What happens if you select a greenslip outside the window, what order do they go in to award? Example, you select it a couple minutes after the window, but they don’t award the slip for another hour or two?

In a nut shell you go after everyone in the batch you were in. So if they blast the whole category then every single pilot who raised their hand or had auto accept in would have to decline the award for it to go to you.

Seems to be an issue indeed. I’m going to have a few things to suggest in the contract survey. Hopefully we can do something to address these issues. More significant penalties than 23 m 7 to try to ensure proper trip coverage. Sadly, after 18 years, I’m not going to hold my breath!
We can’t take the bait. Our first focus should be on bringing the 23.M.7 enforcement rate as close to 100% as possible — via automation.

The problem is that the company isn’t complying with the relatively harsh penalty that already exists (triple pay). Management would be happy to let ALPA negotiate away auto accept, in exchange for an even greater penalty that they still won’t comply with.

agree. Don’t fall for it. The company can choose to cover trips with gs as early as they want to. They seem to be purposely prodding the pilot group by waiting until ‘the last minute’ and then pretending to have no choice but to do a mass-blast ia phone call. Alpa skeds has to be all over this.
IA needs to be re-written. It’s a dated part of our contract that no longer applies. Just about every single time IA is being used, the company is breaking the contract. They might claim the 23.M.7 loophole, but that was supposed to be used for extraordinary circumstances. Bypassing GS coverage is not extraordinary. We’re extremely greedy as a group which is fine, but we’re going down a bad path with the current free-for-all.

Project pilots are 85 hours, tech pilots 95, and Chiefs are 105. They do not get more.
