Nonstop Negotiations

This no pb day thing if allowed would be disastrous for many who use reserve green slips to work less and get paid more. There’s no way in hell I’d work a full month of reserve credit AND pick up more flying on top of that. Res and reg green slips are not the same and I’d be a single issue no vote if they tried to make them look alike. The life of a res pilot would be miserable and crew resources would continue to min run the operation. The pb day is one of the few tools we have to make it hurt when we run hot and needs to stay that way to discourage further staffing blunders. Don’t go trying to solve their manning problems for them.
Exactly right....I like having choices like we have now. If I want to work a lot and make a lot I can bid a regular line and make 130-150 hours or more. If I want to not work a lot and make 90 hours or so, I'll bid reserve and GS a few times. It's good to have choices. And yes, I think less will pick up GS on reserve because the whole point of bidding reserve and rolling thunder is to work less and make a decent wage.

What is this reserve GS trigger you speak of? Also heck to the no.

Right now there is no GS trigger for res. But if as in the original post "GS RES paid as Line holder no day off returned," there may be a trigger like a line holder that you must fly to to get the 2x pay. But what do I know, I'm a res newbie and haven't quite figured it out. I need to go to the ALPA sponsored "how to make $$$ on res class."

Agreed. Taking the payback days and still working reserves 17 days a month is a NO vote for me.
If they pull payback days then every reserve day needs to pay 5:15 like a line holder. This equates to 12-14 days reserve. Then ok.

For those who don’t ever bid reserve or go for payback days and don’t care about payback days being taken away be advised: payback days provide the entire seniority list benefits, even if you’ve never earned a PB day. The big benefit that gives the most value to the seniority list is by making it equitable for senior bidders to bid reserve, making it possible for junior pilots to hold lines or commuters to hold lines much quicker in category. Payback days help the whole entire seniority list if you ever realized it or not. Don’t let these go away!!!!!!
