I heard he’s been out all year. Not exactly something that should be ignored. I’m not convinced he has a real feel for the NB schedule atrocities. He’s a 320A and vey senior so insulated from the chaos and the need for QOL and trip construction improvements. I am surprised you are touting ALPA experience. I thought you said the insider politics needed to go.

Do any of the 330/350 have any feel for the NB schedules? I'd argue a guy getting phone calls every day and briefings from the scheduling, PBS, CASC and FTDT committees is way way more "in touch" than guy who has been on a WB for a decade.

Should the MEC Chairman or our reps only be qualified if they fly a NB?

I’d be happy if our MEC chairman was flying anything. We’re not that fortunate. Instead we get a career politician.

My statement was dripping with sarcasm.

I think he needs to step down. If I am off for the next DTW LEC meeting I am going to go up there, look him and Mike Bell in the eye and introduce a resolution that he do so until such time he returns to active status.

They don't necessarily need to be NB qualified, but they sure as Hell need to be qualified.

As a relatively senior 320A myself, and similar seniority to him, I don’t think being senior insulates you from the real feel for NB schedules. The trips are pretty bad all up and down the list unless you’re in the top 10-20 and can cherry pick the few decent trips. What DOES insulate you though, is LTD or STD.

What about guys who only do day turns? Or guys who drop their whole schedule and pick up broken trips. Should they not be allowed to be reps because they don't know what it's like to fly a 4 day?

9-8, and that is why Delta is so reluctant to open bases. MIA/FLL, MCO/TPM, BOS... Not yet. That would just be more LEC's to buy off and/or persuade to get another Moak into office. Four years into negotiations and he really thinks we shouldn't consider a strike? Maybe we should have waited 8? 10?

Anyways, hurry up and get VB's added to the contract so we can make everyone Atlanta based and be on a better path going forward. 50% deadhead too so it would cost the company as much not having an actual base.

This place is a joke.
