How does it affect anyone's buying habits negatively? If we designed an organic biofuel alternative that primarily saved the company money but also had the secondary effect of being more environmentally friendly, are you saying people would NOT buy a Delta ticket because we weren't burning dinosaur bones?
Never underestimate the power of offending people even though that is not your intention. Again, it's not part of advertising yet as Oofff pointed out
Ants....elephants
BTW I use words like, "personally", or, "I feel" or, "I'm not convinced"..... those words connotate a greyness in the subject matter. Why does this have to be black and white for you?

It's the same general concept on a larger scale. A cost cutting measure masqueraded as an environmental responsible action. If you aren't offended by biofuels, you shouldn't be offended by cups. And, for the record, the reason it hasn't been advertised is because they were not supposed to be used on passengers. The cups were only for use with crews, for whatever reason.

BTW, I was amending my last post as you were typing this last one but it is even more germane now with all your inferring and misquoting me.

Well, right wrong or indifferent, some people just get tired of having their nose rubbed in other peoples "issue of the day". I think they feel like, "just do it and quit telling me how great you are". Some people take offense at "grandstanding"
An example....An acquaintance remarked they are tired of every (most) TV shows that they watch(ed) HAS to have a gay plot/sub plot. Shows that they mentioned were 17 years of watching NCIS recent intro gay, NCIS Hawaii( from the 1st show) prominent subplot, Quantum Leap the(trans/nonbinary) same....so they started watching more Hallmark....same same with the gays. Their thoughts were they understand that there are gays but they are tired of their nose getting rubbed in it and (their opinion) making a huge effort to normalize it.
So, right, wrong or indifferent, that is their opinion. I am not here to defend it nor support it....but the "social proselytizing" of ESG Styrofoam cups would be analogous for them. Whether it would result in buy/not buy decisions is nebulous but they would find the "advertising " as hypocritical and "nose rubbing"
