I know it's the senior pilot's WS, but I would think a fellow pilot would want to help another pilot get their fair share from the company since they insist on making us use the PB days in this manner. They can still get the trip and the other pilot gets $$$. Unfortunately some people just don't really care. I would say that person is kind of a DB. Hasn't affected me too greatly, but it just seems gauche to call a win for yourself when both people can have what they want.

Banked pay back days have a lot of usefulness, I wouldn't be willing to just take a fixed hour amount. Sometimes I just do want the time off or supp vacation or reserve time off. Just because some people max $ value doesn't mean we need to change the way banking PBs works.

Buck, perhaps a better word would be "productive" rather than greedy, but I wouldn't be afraid to label myself as a greedy pilot 😬.

I am not sure what all the fuss is all about. Simple solution - if the senior pilot wants to fly the trip and he WS'd the trip in the middle of PB day recycling couldn't the junior pilot just text him and explain whats going on. They become Micrew friends and then they complete the process. The guy trying to use his PB days doesn't care who he is working with - either way he gets to burn his PB days and the senior Pilot can just keep WS'ing the trip. I would assume the Pilot burning his PB days would offer the trip to the senior Pilot who WS'd it at the end since he played ball. Everyone comes out a winner.

I find it interesting that area-code guys/gals watch the daily coverage to snipe a trip from someone. This happens on all levels, but it's a low blow.
Side note: I know it's part of the contract, and it's fair for anyone to put a "blanket slip" in, but those who watch each PCS run...... maybe find a hobby.

Same. I like to use my PB days to break up reserve into 1 or 2 day blocks or simply allow them to go to vacation the following year.

This is true, but financially speaking it is better to PD reserve days to break up long blocks and save the banked PB days to churn late in the year. Both a PB and PD require positive coverage so there is no specific benefit to using the PB over the PD. And if you can turn those banked PB days into ~8+ hours of pay each you'll more than make up for the ~4:30 loss in pay when you PD a reserve day.
