PB burner trip
#1
Been talking with a few people like me who have several PBs going into 2024. With only 3 months to cash them in I will have to bid a REG line and swap to cash out before April. I'm going to post trips on the pilot swap board as a SWAP only with a phone contact required and in the notes, "PB burner trip call to coordinate" I'm hoping this becomes a thing. My trips will only be 8+ hours on day one. I'd be willing to swap them a few times and either end up with the trip or be willing to give it up for the ability to use my PBs. Please check the SWAP only posts if you are willing to do the PB dance.

To add to that….if a greedy pilot were in your category and saw that posting he might put in a white slip for your juicy trip and if he’s senior to your burner buddy….y’all will lose the trip. Ask me how I know. It’s pretty damn annoying, especially when they can have the trip when you’re finished either way.

It's always annoying when someone comes in and ruins your party. But there is an irony to calling someone greedy, when you're being greedy as well lol.

id say the circumstances would matter a lot. If it’s just a trip in open time that survives a PCS run or a blind WS for trips in the bid package that happens to drop you can’t really argue a foul. However if you see in PCS someone is burning PB days and put in a blind WS to break up their party that’s a DB move.

I just thought this would be a better way, rather than cold calling half the catatgory. I'd be willing to risk it. If I lose the trip I have at least on PB cashed at 8+ and could always decide to use more than 1 on day 1. But yeah, somebody could blanket WS the trip and it doesn't get swapped back. I've done the hot potato and traded 2X and both pilots cashed in, in a day of 4 PCS runs. I'll try it, even 5:15 beats next years 4:15 SUP VAC.

If someone does pick up the trip you can always contact them and explain the situation. Maybe they will work with you for a few PCS runs and then they can keep the trip after you use your PB days. I have been cold called before and it was not a big deal - most Pilots are glad to help out.
