ALPA leadership has done more to stand up for controllers than Nick Daniel’s/NATCA.

There's absolutely nuance here. They can be frustrated but if you push too hard with this administration, they'll dissolve the union. They really don't have any real leverage

Not right now but they did earlier in the year when controller staffing was front page of the news for a couple weeks.

Regardless, an article about Nick Daniel’s in 2025 saying controllers didn’t stop the last shutdown in 2019 doesn’t prove anything except that he’s trying to keep the current admin happy.

Probably. Last 2 “Monday” releases were Aug and Feb, and they both released the mid-bid on Friday.

in which way? I don’t see this being a black swan event. It might cause issues for sure. But I think if we limit the term “black swan” to sudden things that cause significant long term damage to the industry, this won’t be close.

but it will certainly create issues that may compound for awhile. Even if the gov opens tomorrow.
