If thanksgiving travel gets meaningfully messed with (I wager it will if this is still going) or you have a major meltdown before then, there will be immense political pressure to unscrew this stalemate. The kind of pressure that makes the pressure up to this point look like the last couple dribbles at the end of a pee versus an industrial pressure washer. That kind of interference starts affecting the large group of people who otherwise don’t rely on time critical gubment services for much and have up to this point been pretty whatever about the whole thing.

There was going to be some posturing and measuring up this week post-special elections, but that can and will end quickly when things start going off the rails which becomes more likely every day.
All the major credit unions and banks that service fed gov workers are offering interest free loans to give workers that are not on furlough or had their positions eliminated. So if you're ATC TSA Mil DoW, contractor or in any critical position that's working now and not being paid, those interest free loans are available.

It's not uncommon and has happened several times in the past

Now on topic. We are still capped somewhat at how many we hire due to lack and delays in our deliveries. That's the driver right now for hiring. We'll hire for attrition plus a few percent next year and not much more. We won't hire pilots just to sit around and not fly. That's not how this FOPs management group works. They'll min run it.

I'll take a big mac and a chalupa. Drift correction, steering into the turn. Do you have any idea now that we have monthly AEs what the average movement is? How many people or percent of the group changes positions per month? And maybe average B to A moves.

I like the more frequent AE’s but it seems to have “stove piped” things more. However they have lately coincided with much less hiring, so that’s a large factor to the results as well.

That's why I thought an annual average divided by 12 might be a helpful stat for planning. I'm not going anywhere but I wonder what the average movement has been and how far up my BES I might move in a similar hiring year. Just my idle curiosity since we aren't able to discuss how Trump will end the shutdown.

Shouldn't be too hard to spreadsheet. The excel versions of AE awards are on Deltanet dating back to Jan 2024.
