Last hail Mary: they announce record profits, close year with green line going up, THEN make a historic WB order to celebrate.

Just here in the spirit of Rippinpeace's optimism 🫡 (RIP AUS base)

I combined the AE results from Nov 24 - Oct 25 into 1 sheet. Some quick numbers (I haven't filtered the sheet at all for things like bypasses or someone awarded something more than once.)

In that 12 month period:

1959 total AE awards.
296 FO to CA awards.

I was going to say something similar. Thanks for beating me to it. How about that last AE?

Fair point. While there is some relevancy WRT the shutdown and its impacts on this industry, the topic of AE’s mostly transcends that for now.

I wonder how many CA retired during that same time? We aren’t training for attrition, let alone their stated 3% growth. “Fellas, for 2026 set the Optimizer to four fingers and no lube. BOHICA!”

That's an interesting point that made me ask an interesting question: How many captains did we have in NOV 2024 vs OCT 2025.

Nov 2024 Seniority list had 8,087 A's
Oct 2025 Seniority list had 7,967 A's

and

Nov 2025 Seniority list has 7,918 A's

That’s a rounding error. Practically the same.

The numbers of CAs getting smaller is not a “rounding error” but keep telling yourself that.

What were the total number of active pilots for the same dates? A % of A’s is probably a more accurate measure if trying to see a trend.

If the total list is 500 less, those A numbers don’t look bad. I did not look up any numbers FYI.
