Quote: They don't load your training schedule into iCrew. I don't know the exact date but keep an eye on the simulator schedules on your fleet page. You will get a training letter outlining your exact sim schedule and hotel info about 6 weeks prior to attending.
I know they won’t load the training schedules, but the overall dates do get loaded into iCrew. Just was curious how quickly people saw the those dates populated in there? Thanks!

Quote: Is it just me or does PSC not really change anything when you still need to follow the backup rules? In my situation despite 15 flights a day, the 2 hrs rule often makes a lot of trips uncommutable if the report is <12 PSC or not?
It depends. When I was a commuter, my Florida - ATL leg had full loads on almost every flight. And there was no OAL options. Having a positive space seat at *any* time was a HUGE relief, but yes the backup flight requirement is obnoxious and needs to go.

Quote: Yes, being sorted by age vs SSN in 2001 cost me at least 40 seniority #s in my class! Im reminded of it every time I see the monthly bids and see a few in my class just above me that were there because they were older. That being said, more and more of them are dropping off the list as we plod along towards retirement.
I really didn’t care about my place within the class. I cared a whole lot more what equipment I got stuck on… The MD 88.

As a thought experiment, age is absolutely the fairest way to assign equipment to new hires, especially those hired in their 40’s or later. Even a couple years younger, you would have much more time on better equipment than I ever will - especially so if you are 15 years younger, as some in my NH class were.

All that said, it’s never going to change, and you can’t unring that bell. So… Whatever

At the very least, 2 hours between flights is arbitrary and asinine

Quote: I'll make a bold prediction here. I don't see our commute rules changing much if at all in this next contract.
It wouldn’t surprise me. Personally, I will vote against any TA that leaves 23.X unchanged again.

The last round took a strange “all or nothing” approach to commuter policy improvements. The goal shouldn’t be PSC or bust — it should at least be a policy consistent with the rest of the industry, preferably AAL’s.

I agree. No backup required if you have jumpseat. Positive space on Delta if you do have backup. If you don’t make it following those rules, trip PD’d with no disciplinary action. That needs to be in PWA.

I agree. I'd add no backup required if confirmed revenue ticket on any carrier.

Confirmed ticket only. Adding revenue is unnecessary and could lead to unintended consequences.

Because last round it was “bring your best offer” to the company and “take it or leave it and we will put you in ice”, to the Neg Committee by the mediator. So the company decided to left that out for this cycle.

Maybe this time something will work better. Maybe PS or JS in Delta metal one flight and OAL keep 2 flights with second flight being Delta for PS. Or if you us OAL one flight with confirmed ticket. That way it give us options and different ways to make it to work and home without stress.
