I hate when dialogue comes across as if one group knows more than another. Speaking ONLY for me, I simply hit “unread posts” each login, and scroll until something looks interesting, regardless of sub forum. Much of what gets bantered around is good food for thought. I agree with you that when guys start the “my airline method is better than yours” crap, they need to take a hike. Be well.

honestly this is precisely a topic where I like to hear how other airlines do it. There is a lot of “if there were a better way we would have thought of it” here and this just one example why line of thinking is bad.
I don’t necessarily agree with everything MOP has said, but it’s certainly added insight to the conversation.

In every other instance besides reject they make it clear that you may usurp authority if you feel it’s a safety issue. RTO is crystal clear.
Not sure about the consternation about two people on the controls either. You are PF until relieved by the phrase “I have the aircraft.”

At United or just in your cockpit? It’s been plainly spoken for 2 airlines now that the FO has no decision making authority regarding RTO. The FO shall not call reject. The FO is merely to point out an observation (engine failure, fire, etc,) but if the CA chooses to continue, CAs authority dictates the CA is correct and you should not overrule.

our manual does not say the FO shall not call out Reject. It states the FO shall call out anomalies and the Ca will decide.
speaking for myself If my FO states REJECT I’m going to assume something is on the runway and I’m going to stop. Because they are not trained to state reject.

If we’re all just here to talk about how other airlines do rejected takeoffs or aborts that’s cool, and I apologize for interrupting the exchange of information. I’ll keep doing it the way Delta wants me to do it. Not because it’s the best way, but because it enhances job security. The very reason this thread wandered into this territory was because people were/are uncomfortable or unhappy with the nonstandardization of a boilerplate rejected takeoff. I’m not sure if introducing even more variables (ie how folks at UAL or AAL or Mesa or MSFS or whoever do it) into the event is helpful.
