Let’s see how much more we can complicate the contract for minuscule gains so absolutely no one in ALPA can enforce it and no one in the company can understand it. And then we can go to arbitration for these items in the future so we can all get a $20 check in 5 years after paying lawyers tens of thousands of dollars. No thank you. You can keep your airplane food improvements but I’ve made myself perfectly clear in my survey I care about the old tired mentality items - time off and pay. Simple items the company can easily honor.
This x1000.

The company would love for us just to focus on rates while they squeeze more efficiency out of us.

Not all are old timers, plenty of us have a few decades remaining. Many of the QOL items only impact a portion of the group, isn't that being selfish? Rates/more vacation/higher pay for training impact impact everyone, in fact, they probably impact the younger pilots more due to TVM.
Seriously. I was paid at the wrong rate a few months ago. Why anyone thinks the company does what it does because how the contract is written is being too kind to the company.

Reason enough to not have more than one pay rate for each fleet.

I'm with you. Honestly, If we were smart, we'd push heavily for soft-pay items with a me-too with UA/AA/WN on pay rates. Let them do the pay lifting while we do the QOL lifting. We got a little taste of it on the current contract where UA got us 2%. Let's leverage that for 2-3% more from each industry contract.
