It could also be that it's a leisure market, so they want to put the lower customer experience on that route. It could also be that the 757 is less bad relative to the 321 neo on operational costs doing that instead of more legs domestically.
I don't think you can compare apples to oranges.

There is a significant difference in planning/dispatching between SEA-FLL and SEA-HNL. Can the airplane fly the distance? Sure, but can the airplane do it, meet all regulatory requirements, and have an alternate, etc.?

I’ve already postulated that the likley cause was us ordering our ETOPS NEOs without the 2nd ACT. Everything I have seen/heard has pointed to that. Another poster said that wasn’t the issue. If it’s something else I’d love to hear it but given everything I’ve seen that seems like the most likely culprit

it should be fine, do AAs CEOs have the 2nd ACT?

IIRC only HA has 321neo’s with a 2nd ACT out of the NA carriers. Their CEO’s all have 2 ACT’s I think.

Good thing we didn’t plumb our NEOs for that 2nd ACT

I was told AAs ETOPS 321NEOs do as well.

Could be right, and they also do DFW-ANC as well which is close to 7hrs, so 2 ACT might be true.

Most of Island 737 flights were exclusively on the 800. This includes Alaska, which has plenty of 900ERs.

We thought we could do it with 900ERs….we couldn’t.

No, we just use the wrong variants/options.

Don’t ya know Delta makes all the wrong decisions and somehow manages to make the most every year?

Reality is every carrier has to PO plenty of flights. It’s an echo chamber of thinking Delta is the largest victim to PO issues.
