But if it’s a weight issue they could get 321s all the way to 101t.
Just like everyone else flies 737’s to the islands but we couldn’t figure it out.

Lets not forget the winter we couldn’t fly our NEOs to Hawaii from SEA or LAX because of “winter winds”.

No, it was because our dispatch software had a bug that took months to fix.

is it just me or does DL seem to have more conservative flight planning than some other airlines? Or is it just the pilots complain more and the planes are actually performing well.

What's the seat config? What's the BOW ?

Hint: There's a difference between ours and theirs. That's your answer.

And they all struggle. We had better options with our diverse fleet. They just PO the crap out of them and send them on their way. Yes, they'll diddy mao into Kona for fuel stop some times on the way to HNL. Again we've got better options with our diverse fleet structure.

DL-194
AA- 196
HA- 189

I don’t see much of a difference. And if it was the weight and not the 2nd ACT, we could always order the LR or XLR for the MTOW bump.

IFE’s, Heavier FC recliners can all make a difference, more conservative fuel planning, everything can make a small difference. AA even used the CEO to Hawaii, so a plane thats 15% more efficient should be fine.

That's not the answer.

The idea that the 321 neo can't do SEA/LAX is Hawaii is total nonsense. I've only flown it transcon, but SEA-FLL is just as long as SEA-HNL. That's just a joke. I've done those routes starting with 75% fuel and landed with 1.5 hours FOB. There are plenty of reasons network chooses to use a 757 when one is available. I'd guess the main one is cargo. It could also be that it's a leisure market, so they want to put the lower customer experience on that route. It could also be that the 757 is less bad relative to the 321 neo on operational costs doing that instead of more legs domestically.
