Where did this $20m come from? in December it was rumored to be $200m. Now it's suddenly 1/10th of that, yet there are more m7s on the reports? One, or both of those numbers, is clearly wrong. Inflated the $200m to make it seem shockingly high, then deflated the $20m to make it seem like it isn't that valuable to get ALPA to settle for less is my guess.

I believe a similar rumor was that Oct was $10M, so if that’s accurate, it’s getting worse, not better.

Reportedly, HT said in a recent Velvet that the previous month was $23M in 23M7 costs. (In a shoulder month, no less)

Don't forget that $23m also is likely just what is being paid in the *recorded* 23M7 penalty. We first have to assume every time they skip coverage, they are appropriately paying pilots who are harmed. I'm not convinced it's a 100% rate. What they are absolutely leaving off are less easily quantifiable effects like coverage being delayed long enough that a slip that would have gone to a reserve or as a WS is being covered at a QS.

Jason Crude in Crew Planning has been officially forced out. They eliminated his position and basically forced him into retirement. Apparently HT’s job is secure now that they’ve got their scapegoat.
