Check the Socials on how Delta is getting raked over the coals on this. Frequent flyers, the people that matter most, like Starlink because it works right now. I have faith Amazon can pull this off and it will be great for us in 2-3 years. However Delta would have been better off just inking the deal and silently installing LEO without an announcement. Our internet now is not bad - it is way better than it used to be to be and United customers repeatedly complain about their lack of service. How did someone in Marketing think it was a good idea to announce this now when it won’t be available for 2 years in a best case scenario? Announce it when it is closer and a proven technology. The public perception is now Delta is way behind United - which probably isn’t true.

I just don't understand the hate for Elon.

He reinvigorates the electric car, spreads internet to places previously inaccessible, and he's hero to the left. The left pulls the center so far to the left that now Elon (and most sane people) are considered "right wing." Now he's the subject of so much hate and vitriol that people vandalize cars that were virtue symbols a year earlier. Amazing what exposing waste, fraud and abuse can bring out in people.

Picking Amazon over Starlink is like picking Microsoft Surface over the Ipad.

Everyone has been trying to catch up with what Delta (and JetBlue) have been doing for years. Still trying. Our PR department obviously isn't as aggressive as some others. I think this is just Delta announcing the next gen products while still keeping older gen stuff as well.

Clearly not.

It’s not even going to be in our planes for a few years.

There are way more issues to be worried within the company than people arguing over which billionaires product is better lol

Moved on from what? They have the only worldwide internet system, the best selling car in the world, robots soon to be delivered and a public offering on their space division that might be the largest ever. Their internet system in the fall starts to get the third generation satellites that blow away today’s capabilities. The model Y is the best selling car in the world not just EV. Their Robo taxi is in production. Their space division launched more orbital rockets last year than the entire rest of the world combined! They certainly do seem to be moving!

Not to mention the lives that will be improved via Neuralink.

Elon was their hero for about a decade or so before MSNBC decided he was bad so now he's the villain. It's quite comical how little critical thinking these folks have.

The Rav4 is the best selling car in the world. Waymo is way ahead of Robotaxi. Optimus can't even stay upright during showcases. Tesla isn't a bad company, but extremely over hyped and investors paying nosebleed valuations will be left holding the bag
