Does anyone know the ballpark cost of a cancelled flight? I’m curious what our weekend failures amount to vs the monthly 23m7 bill, which is a more easily identifiable number.
Not that it really matters since no one seems to G.A.S. about differences in pre and post month credit values, the enormous inefficiencies in coverage generated by scheduling, etc.
I’m happy to profit from the chaos, but it’s hard to understand the company’s willingness to accept and endure the current situation.

The longer we wait for a "quick deal," the more I am convinced: RG, HT, and the rest of FltOps leadership don't *REALLY* view the trip coverage / AA / 23M7 stuff as the true reason for us falling short of operational reliability goals.
If they did, we'd already be talking about (or voting on) a deal in order to get it fixed before risking summer meltdowns. But we're not, and it sounds like there will be no quick deal.
Instead, FltOps has already taken action (albeit too late) to fix the problem in a way that they think will work: Turning hiring up to 11 UFN.
Blaming the pilot group is just a convenient narrative to throw dust in everyone's eyes, distract from a failure to plan ahead, and sow seeds of distrust and angst toward the pilot group during Section 6 negotiations.

What incentive would RG even remotely have to legitimately come to the table 6 months after we’ve traded away our greatest piece of leverage?
All contractual desires that this pilot group has for the next 5 years need to be addressed at the time auto-accept is traded away. Pivoting to a comprehensive focus is the best move we can possibly make. IMHO, that’s where we’ll be headed within the next couple weeks.

Leveling premium results is less money going to the pilot group. Most will be senior one day.
I realize that many pilots here think that they are entitled to everything day one but that's not how the industry works.
How long have you been at Delta? How old were you when you were hired?

Delta could cover every trip NLT the 8 hour prior point via 23M7 and jumping straight to QS….they choose not to….guess they don’t want to pay for it and would rather cancel the flights and blame the pilots.

Walking on the airplane today, the FA said “well, at least you guys showed up”…so I would say the questionable truths coming out of Velvet, etc. are imprinting on other employees.

What other contractual benefits should we "level"? Perhaps just one pay rate for a fleet instead of the 12 year progression? Or how about just being a to use your seniority for one of your vacation weeks? Or maybe just being able to use your seniority for one bid month a year? You get my point.
