From my understanding, even if they have 100 guys sitting SC for every trip that pops open they’re still going to skip OOBWS to assign a trip to a SC. So they’re going to have to pay 100% of the trip for every reserve assignment instead of it being free. I just don’t see how they are ok doing this until the end of time.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Depends on when the trip pops into OT.....

23.N (> 18 hrs): SC is before OOBWS

23.O (<18 hrs): OOBWS is before SC

Well if it's greater than 18 hours, then what's the point of short call?

They need to end the feeding frenzy. They need to make people scared to drop trips to the reserve limit for the gamble of premium. The only way i see this is if they plus up reserves and actually reduce the flying for a couple months. Even now there are categories starting june 2nd with only 20-40% of reserves available. Its ridiculous.

I used to believe RG could hire his way out of the mess, but now that the 23M7 toothpaste is out of the tube it seems unlikely.

Post bankruptcy, people could only WS or swap to get bigger paychecks.

Post covid you used to WS to hit the GS trigger, but now with QS, that incentive is gone.
Everything is set up to reward people who drop their entire schedule (QS, 23m7, IA, etc). No wonder they are preposting reserve rest. It would be an even bigger s show without if they didn’t stem more drops.

I’ve had the same thought. I’m happy we are hiring, in the small hope schedules will improve but wouldn’t bet on it. I’m not a cynic, I’m an optimist with experience!

i can’t comprehend how the C-suite and BoD is allowing RG/HT to blow $10M+ per
month on 23M7 while our operation simultaneously tanks, with no solutions in sight. Truly baffling.

If it's greater than 18 hours, it has to go to a LC first. If there are no more long call, which there often aren't since they are all on SC, it will go to a SC reserve.

$10M? According to HT it's more than double that. What was it, $23M or $27M? Something like that. That only amplifies your point.

I really really really wish I was a fly on the wall the moment they realize that hiring all these "expensive pilots" doesn't solve the 23M7 issues.
