Uncertainty is the only constant in our industry. Negotiating in fear never works to a pilot group’s advantage.
The cost of 23.M.7 is astronomical. Management is stuck with it if no deal is reached — along with the operational implications. Their jobs are on the line because of it. Time is 100% on our side.

They could keep hiring to the point that there’s no open time at all. Many of us worked here when we were overstaffed by over a thousand pilots with no premium pay at all except in extraordinary circumstances. That’s not very likely to happen again due to retirements though. When it happened before, the retirement age was raised stopping all retirements for 5 years.

Lol, you'd better pull your head out of the sand before it gets in your eyes.
There isn't a bigger factor than the ME situation and the scheduling issues that is going to impact the negotiations. Who knows how much pain the company is willing to endure, logic says a quick deal, egos and a company ran by small town Georgia thinking says something else.

BTW Joe I've been thru so many contracts here I've forgotten most of them. I'm well familiar with the game. People like you who start to panic over something that is not been mentioned by either our MEC Chair and/or NC means you're not paying attention. I'm confident our NC will deliver a solid contract for us, again, this cycle. Whether we get the quick deal (totally up to company) or we go the distance.

You obviously don't read the MEC and NC emails on Delta's economic position in the industry leading up to and including this year as we started section 6. We'll either get the quick deal, and they've (MEC and NC) said will not tender us a POS to vote in in this regard - or we go to mats. It's in the company's best interest to get a deal done with us before summer flying really kicks in <----- that's straight from the MEC and the NC.

Maybe. Company already finding ways to reduce 23.M.7 cost. For example, only partially paying 23.M.7 due to max pickup limit. Purposely not paying it out at all unless someone finds out about it. Running multiple steps of coverage at once to see if someone takes trips before QS, then giving trip to reserve instead.
