There are times CS awards ZERO low credit lines. Yes, there are ways to force the issue, but setting that condition doesn’t work very often.

good. This is a seniority-based system.

The same cabal who wants “leveling” now will try to get rid of it in 5-10 years.

Correct. Bit me twice and got a line at max ALV window.

Now SET CONDITION mid credit window has been working great for me. Usually I can get rid of one trip which will drop me to the bottom of the window.

And no I’m not that sr, about 45% BES. Clear my schedule? Most of it if able, depending on time of year. Bonito run right now, mahi won’t be far behind. October… deer ducks fish…work? No time for that.
Are bonito fish big?

No offense taken.

I know of at least one senior pilot who (apparently) dropped his whole schedule, and picked over 10 days of SS in one PCS run.

Dropping your Schedule: fully support
Getting First pick of SS: fully support
Getting all the picks: Foul, straight to jail!

Sorry, you will never convince me that “seniority” is meant to get all the picks. Vacation doesn’t work like that. No other premium works like that.

There are many possible solutions. I don’t mind SS existing (some do). I like having a SS counter, just like every other premium. (GS, OOBGS, QS, IA), but folks are free to disagree. But let me ask you this, why should SS be different?

At a BARE minimum, SS should be limited to one per PCS run. Thats at least a LITTLE fair.

Though, I had to wonder if the impending section 23 changes will relegate SS to the rarity that GS used to have 10+ years ago.

Unpopular opinion:

"Contract Sharpshooting" should be:

1. Easy to understand

2. Require no unsolicited "trip washing" to random people you don't know

3. Go senior (union shop)

4. Rare

This is a business, not a casino.

Line guarantee is 65hrs…that’s what you have to get in credit for your SS/GS/QS to pay 200%. There…no more sr pilots dropping trips to pick Qs/SS at 200% all the time and no more moving of trigger.
Ew no, putting the trigger at 65 for everything is a horrid idea.
