I don't know why anyone wants to celebrate a hard cap on DCI at 450 jets as a scope win because we'll now have a hard cap on the total DCI fleet.

And then turn around and increase the hard cap on jumbo RJs from 255 to 325.

Either a hard cap is a hard cap everywhere, or it isn't a hard cap anywhere.

From the May 28 NNP:

"We will be the only legacy airline pilot group that has gained domestic flying without flying small aircraft and/or agree to substantially lower pay rates or different work rules."
Well he11 it's a victory....we aint flyin them good for nuthin small airplanes. We all are too good for that. Lets not figure out a way to get them on the property.....just keep the "barbie jets" outsourced. It's good for our union and it's good for our pilots. Don't question. Just take our word for it.

Btw, we don't see ALV + 15 and more short calls as substantially different work rules even though it will reduce required head count by 300.

This is exactly what Delta has decided to do at the Comair subsidiary. We have piles of 50s parked in the desert waiting for lease expiration so we can dust them off and give them back to the bank.

Cheaper that way.

I love ya both, but let's think of RJ's as life threatening animals:
50 seat RJ's = scorpions with a short life span
50+seat RJ's = Alligators capable of swallowing your a$$ whole with a very long life span. Now let's do some math:

-----------------------------------------------------------

No TA + 717's = 255 Alligators and 345 Scorpions...600 life threatening animals
....TA + 717's = 325 Alligators and 125 Scorpions...450 life threatening animals

Sounds OK until you realize that scorpions die off in no time, but alligators live longer than humans. Then you realize you just let 70 more freakin alligators live in your house because you were so overjoyed at getting rid of 150 scorpions. Good grief.

Oh well, back to watching Swamp People.

What the hell! Does this mean you're working?

When half the 717s arrive.. the mainline fleet will exceed 767. Management can then convert all the 70 seaters to 76s.. And they have absolutely no reason nor mechanism to get rid of the 50s... all 3 hundred and something of 'em...

Then... management can start parking mainline aircraft... with no corresponding reduction in RJs..

But you are right, the TA sucks. I'll only make $30 more than a UAL 747 captain.

I can't seem to find in the NNP about Section 1, the language regarding the long term plan to reduce the number of jumbo RJs...

So vote no and get all the flying back at mainline. If it's Delta paint, it should be Delta pilots.

Your reps shouldn't agree to anything that doesn't get all the flying back. What is so wrong with a Delta pilot flying a 50 seat RJ? It wouldn't take inches away from your wang.

Seriously? You have absolutely no concept of costing that out. I have shown you where with only back of the napkin math we couldn't make the 76s work.. and you think we could get the 50s too?
