Yeah I don't remember anyone ever complaining about paying the assessment. Maybe it happened, but I never once heard it.

Yes, I as a line pilot would be more than willing to give a little so that our new hires (not Plebes... This is a business, not a service academy) don't have to suffer an additional financial hardship before coming to work on first year wages.

To me, this just makes Delta look cheap and corporate. To you, apparently, it's a rite of passage to become a Delta Plebe..err.. I mean new hire. Long gone are the days where pilots would do anything..everything...just to be a Delta pilot. There's plenty of other attractive offers out there, and this nickel and dime BS just makes us look less attractive to good, solid applicants.
If they don't like it they don't have to take the job. Let them go to CAL where they start at $30/hour and no insurance for 6 months. Pick your poison.

30 MD90s will replace the DC9s, and 100 739ERs will replace the same number of outgoing 767doms, 757s without winglets, and about 40 320s that are old and have cycle issues. The 88 717s are growth planes thanks to this TA, and there will be 148 fewer RJs too even after the 70 76 seaters arrive. Try not to be so negative. Enjoy the raise.

A lot of the slot swap stuff was initially Piedmont Dashes and Colgan Saabs. The rest of it used to be USair RJs, and hopefully some of that will be replaced by 717s.

Same for the 330. There sure were a number of "if it ain't Boeing, I ain't going" types that suddenly found it within their ability to bid it despite their previous francophobia.

Between the lack of pilots taking the early out, the parking of other aircraft, and the change in work rules, I'd be surprised if we even got back to where we were post merger, in terms of staffing and airframes.

Lots of negativity on this board, amazing..... Those 21 DC9s will be replaced by 30 MD90s, which will pay a lot more than the future 717 rates. Then add 88 of them. I think it will work out just fine.

Bacon is illiterate, didn't you know that? He hasn't read anything since the TA came out.

No that's not true. He has a comprehension problem. He can read.. he just chooses not to.

Not only did I pay the assesment, but I gave $100 per pay period to the furlough relief fund.
