Transactions must be requested before the last day of the month, so if you are going to be close don't wait around to see what the final credit number is. You can request "in the blind" meaning you can tell the computer you want to deposit 5 hours, if you only credit 82.5, the bank will deposit 2.5 hours and disregard the rest.
If you are negative, the computer will automatically take up to 5 hours per month over 80 until you are back to 0.
For reference it is Sec. 12 O.

Okay... if you have not finished your initial OE then you are an entry level pilot. But you're given a seniority number on day 1 and the PWA governs how that seniority number is assigned. But if I remember right the union cannot represent you until you are finished.
Hmmm. Well my guess is day 1 if your seniority number is assigned on day 1 then you meet the definition of a pilot.

Could it be better for our new hires? Of course, but lets remember a few things. First, with over 15K apps on file in 2008 no one was going to turn down a DAL job over crappy first year pay or having to scout out a crash pad for four weeks of their 30+ year career. No one. It is not the best choice, but not one that would make someone decline a position. Not at CAL not having health insurance and crappy pay for six months and a year respectively. I know that I chose DAL over them, but that was not the only reason. Some would not even apply to them for that item.
First year pay stunk. I made 22K in eight months. I made over double that in three months at my previous job. I knew it was going to be a significant change and I planned accordingly. Being at the house with a new born and in new hire training was stressful, but again, better than paying for a hotel or crash pad. It was a few weeks out of my life. Was it most desired? Nope, but worth the prize which was a job at the premier global airline.
I have more than made up for this pay and lack of hotel in my time here. Most of you would agree.
If we want it fixed, we should make it a priority, but I highly doubt that most will be willing to make it a top priority. If anyone decides not to take a DAL job because of it, they are crazy.

We can still bank, but you can only deposit any credit above 80 hours (up to 20 hrs/mo., +60 hrs total). Since the max rsv guarantee is 80 hrs, you will not be able to bank unless you GS or fly your butt off.

Yes that is correct. The game is to bank the max at a low rate (before upgrade or equipment change) and withdraw at the high rate. You can also work it in reverse before a displacement--withdraw to -30 at the high rate and replenish at the lower rate.
