I don't really know how much deadheading they do but i know a lot of their trips cover ATL flying. That seems to be the trend, atl and nyc growing and the other hubs shrinking. :Almost all of the dtw dc9 trips fly atl turns for 4 and 5 days then dh back at the end. Maybe
i should just move to atlanta.

Not saying that SKYW necessarily 'will' operate all the remaining 50's, but if DAL has no other choice but to be forced into keeping the SWYW/ASA 50's then the swaps may come at other DCI airlines.

As to the DCI flying out of SLC, DAL can put any DCI in any base if there are no other restrictions. I know ASA/XJT has a clause that states a minimum percentage of ATL DCI flying, not sure if SKYW has that in SLC at all.

SKYW wouldn't be able to stop operations overnight and start them up for another airline anyway, so there would be a fairly orderly drawdown if they were to leave the DCI portfolio.

NON SEQUITUR:

For the record, I really want to see a requirement that airlines with ALPA represented pilots be the only carriers that are allowed to be awarded DCI flying or have their DCI flying renewed...... Unfortunately there are those that think that would be the result of a "conflict of interest" agenda pushed by ALPA National. T.S. if there are those who disagree with being a trade unionist. "Independent Union" is an oxymoron.

If you invest in a bond bubble, hair will grow on your palms. Or something like that.

Then tell SKYW to consider this their official notice that 100% of their contracts witl DAL will never, ever be renewed. Have fun trying to do an IndyAir and whizzing away your nest egg playing around in the real world.

Default Skywest 50

I guess this is one way to start the process of getting rid of the 50's:

Needles Found In Turkey Sandwiches On Four Delta Flights

This is the needle story. I know it was touched on and scoffed about a few pages back, but I was surprised at how little response there was from you guys. As one of the masses longing for his chance at a job with Delta, I was pretty concerned by this news. Am I making too much out of this? How will this affect business for Delta? Will it be forgotten by the public or will the public not be affected at all? I would love to hear some predictions. I know Delta is a huge company and will overcome this negative publicity, but when competition is so fierce between the airlines, shouldn't I be concerned?

I'm sorry I couldn't figure out how to embed it in my post. Yes: FNG...

Seriously, is this flame bait? You want to get hired at Delta so you re-post negative publicity because it didn't generate enough posts?

Someone contracted by Delta in a foreign country sabotaged food with sewing needles. I'm sure the authorities in said country are all over this. This story is more an insult to that country's hiring practices and security procedures than to anything at Delta.

Anything that happens on an airplane becomes global news.

He's obviously a reporter or troll, not a pilot. Ignore list....
