I saw one dude walking thru DTW earlier this week that, dear God, needs to be one of those 200. Only thing he was missing was a cane. I think he was heading toward the 74 flying to Taipei.
Seriously, that is some mean Carl discrimination.:D |

In Delta political news, the Georgia Transportation Tax increase TSPLOST went ker-SPLAT with 65% of voters saying:
(1) Hell No to a 17% tax increase (2) Why don't we use the transportation tax on fuel sales on transportation instead of using it in the GA general fund? (3) Why is the new transportation tax funding a new stadium to replace our new'ish stadium? Delta was one of the leading contributors to the tax increase effort, although Company communications failed to explain why employees (or anyone else) would want to support it. The beltline initiative probably deserves funding. Light rail makes no sense due to the number of single family homes sitting on large lots. We simply don't have the population density to make a car-less commute a real option. Delta could have saved their money and used it to buy and bust another airline. Maybe they did it to find favor with Mayor Kasim Reed. Who knows? Seems like more financial folly from the political bleachers. |

So it begs the question, FTB, do you bid for a regular line in Sep? As a guy who's in the middle of the pack of the reserves I have to wonder what Sep holds. I got a feeling some more senior pilots are going to reserve in Sep.
it was a nice run while it lasted. Gave me time home with the kids. Seems theyre out to correct reserve inefficiencies. I have a feeling I could be home more not doing reserve. What's funny, I got a feeling this fall will be my worst schedule to date, after five years and four on this jet. I am right near the same percentage I started at when I MD'd to the 88 but my bidding power is dropping. I used to think if you could hit 80% in category and didn't mind reserve you could have a decent QOL, now you need to be a good bit higher. Under the prebucket system 95% wasn't that bad. And that brings up something. Going to the ER as a new hire was not out of seniority as one guy gleefully told me. Um, you can train our of seniority or flow out off seniority or furlough out of seniority, but if pilots are not bidding a category and theyre having to hire into it, that's not out of seniority. And I'm sorry for you if you found joy in that realignment of categories because you had to wait ten years to hold the ER when it was far smaller. |
