Read the PWA... They are not "asking for people to take September". The KLOA is for people who have known absences occurring... Jury duty, dental work, planned surgeries, etc. they will block your schedule accordingly.

Also those numbers of guys out for those event used to not be included in the contractual staffing formula and now those will. It is actually one of the items (albeit smaller items) that eats away at the "300 pilot reduction" number tossed around.

My guess is interviews starting after new year and classes by early spring for all the 717/739's that start arriving in the summer.

We will see how this program goes. Most pilots are procrastinators and will not notify until the last minute.

It looks like ALPA is working a deal to bring the Comair pilots over to Pinnacle. So we get Boomer first I guess.

Is there a better sport in the Summer Olympics then women's beach volleyball? :D

Your LC responsibilities start immediately after the trip.

Here was my scenario. I blocked in from a 3 day trip at 6pm on 7/24. Earlier that day on the 24th I acknowledged at 9AM SC assignment for the following day. When I blocked in from the trip I checked Icrew and the only thing that was on my line for the following day was the 9AM SC. Sked called at 7pm and assigned me a trip for 8am the next day and I didn't know I was on the long call leash and assumed I was fully released until the start of my SC assignment the next day?

Ouch! Yes, this is all kosher. It is out of the ordinary though. We just don't generally think of trips popping into open time in the early evening, but some do. This should have only been your trip IF CS didn't have another LC pilot without an assignment for a trip or SC on the 25th.Once you were assigned that SC on the 25th you should move below all other LC pilots for trips the next day. Other than that, it's your trip. You are always on LC if you are not currently on SC or a trip OR if CS has assigned you "rest". (You are automatically released on your last RES day at 12 N, but I've always thought that was a little useless, since they can't call you for a trip that is less than 12 hours out, unless it is an inverse assignment.) You will not be "released" from LC, only SC. Is that clear?

Is he the same Exxon "Genius" that paid Bob Simpson 31 billion for XTO?

At least the Comair guys already know how to be the shock absorber in the DCI system already.
