Wow thanks for the help, that sounds like a good deal. Seriously I would appreciate some help.
Of course if one has thoroughly read the contract, then still has questions, that's a different story... However, most do not read the contract and further, the vast majority of the answers I see on the various forums, are just plain wrong. I have been a self proclaimed contract guru the last 17 of 24 years and it has made all the difference in my money/qol... I recommend it highly... especially since the vast majority of your bidding competition will never put in the effort to understand their contract. YMMV  |

Opening the aft air stairs from inside should be something trained in the real airplane on the ramp.
Long story short, DAL in their infinite wisdom failed to not only inform RTB of the equipment change but train anyone at the field how to service/work a MD88! RTB has a small ramp only big enough for two aircraft, so between a CO 737 and our first flight 88 on the ramp delayed, there was no where else to put more aircraft. We talked them into letting us land and hold on a taxiway causing our tail to be just over the hold short line onto the runway. Airport really closed now until one of the two planes taxied off the ramp. The original M88 flight finally got out of the way, leaving enough room for us to pull in and them to take off. Then the fun began as I got to do the walk of shame and open the aft stairs from inside the tail cone. It only took two visits to the cockpit to double check that I had the correct handle to lower the stairs. Needless to say it was a total embarrassment for DAL and nerve racking for me....YES we should train the aft stairs on a real airplane at least once if not once every other year! |

It sure didn't take long. Denny |

I'm all for you, Boomer, junglebus and the other ALPA DCI pilots to get here. My heartburn is that the "future DCI" will primarily go to undercutting, piggybacking, and often backstabbing non-union and "Go-jet scabbish" portion of the IBT (its not even the Airline Division of Teamsters)....
You guys have literally paid your dues for years, you deserve a higher status than all those "non-members". 35% was NOT enough. It should have been ONLY ALPA pilots can be hired if the pilot is coming directly from another US airline (unless presently furloughed from an ALPA carrier). Totally agree with you on this. Show value in membership. Show value in unity outside of one property's seniority list. Remember though, people on here were irked that this was even in there. |

That would apply to just about everything in the PWA;)
If the business plan is moderate or better the next three years will go very well for this group. If not, many will have buyers remorse. |

I'd rather that Delta hires the best guys that they can find. I don't want a new guy that can't find his ass with both hands, even if he was a dues-paying ALPA member at a regional airline.
The current hiring clause is fine with me. |
