I'm guessing the visibility was poor and the tower could not actually see the aircraft. If somebody makes a wrong turn or does something that they were not supposed to do, it's pretty hard for the controller to unscrew it once the pilots have screwed it up. It's not always the controller's fault.
[Do controllers ever read this forum? If so, that gives me one "Get Out of Jail FREE" card.]

That's not completely true. They have to CALL you by 2130 (not start you by then) and they can give you flights that you actually work up until 0130, but then they can still deadhead you after that. I have already had 17 and 18 hour days assigned to me. So they could call you at 2129 with one leg to somewhere that is very close, and then deadhead you back.
I think calling your day a 17 or 18 hour day is a bit of a stretch. We used to simply be on call 19 days a month 24 hours a day with 2 hours to report. Using your logic I had lots of 100 hour plus duty hour assignments. Sitting at home and having to reply to a phone call within 10 minutes is not all that taxing. I commute so would have to sit in a hotel or crashpad. Still not really difficult to hit answer on my cell if it rings. Contractually you are not on duty until you report at the airport for the trip. FAR's also don't have you on duty until that point. Whitlow is a rest based look back that requires 8 hours of rest in any 24 hour period. Its not considered duty.
Gahhhh!!! I'm being forced to change my password when I log into Icrew, it says "Note that your new password will synchronize across the majority of Delta's computer systems and will be needed to access these systems going forward".
I've changed my PW by mistake before, and this is a HUGE pain-- PBS stops working, flightline easybid has to be changed and usually breaks, both of those have to be changed on the phone and laptop and desktop; icrewmax stops working.... etc. etc.
Is there any way to avoid this huge time waster and keep current PW? Anyone else getting forced to do this or did I click something bad by mistake?

Not to turn this into a political thread, but if the big O gets another term, capital won't be able to run fast enough from the US, and energy prices will launch into orbit.
It will make 08 look like good times....I'm normally not a political person, but the toxic policies unrestrained by the need to get re-elected will put this country in the dirt.

I never said 18 hour duty day, just an 18 hour day. I was answering the person's question, not making a statement on the level of difficulty of being on call.

I think you're screwed...BUT...when I changed all my Delta passwords (or shall we call it; Synched) the only one I didn't have to change, was my PBS password. PBS is it's own thing, ie. not run through DL Net.
You should still be able to log into PBS, but to get there through DL Net will require your new password (DL Net, iCrew, etc.)
There is a way you can get into PBS without going through DL Net, google up the Navtech website, and look for the Delta platform. They do a lot of other companies bids too, so be sure you've got the right one.
I don't know anything about easy bid, because I've never used it, but from what I've heard, it uses the same passwords you use for iCrew/DLNet, so yeah, you'll have to update that too.
The reason I found out about this, (the hard way) was I wanted to put in a letter of recomendation, for Lolwut
, through Airline Apps, and you can only do that if you have activated your DL Email account. But if/when you activate your DL Email account, you also have to get a NEW PASSWORD! So after three phone calls, and 30 minutes online updating all my passwords, I finally got it done. BUT my PBS Password didn't change.
Oh, the best part? Now I'll have to do it all over again, every 90 days!

I've had the same password for about the last 10 years, but now, because I activated that damned DL Email, I have to change it every 90 days.

Timbo,
Thanks, and yes that's EXACTLY how I got boofed before--- I was browsing around and I see this link "Delta Email" and I'm like,
"Hey, how neat-O! A Delta Email for me! I need to click this bad johny and see what kind of cool company PR info I'm missing out on!",
which of course turned out to be a heinous mistake. However, I vowed then to lead a Delta-email-free life, and only drink moderately when wandering the streets of NYC after the Capt had turned in at 1930, and hope for the best. I appears that finally Delta Tech has caught up to me... it must have been that 4th Guinness last week.
Thanks for the words, I guess I'll change it now while I have time to un-boof it, rather than next week when I'm running thru the terminal with 3 minutes until sign-in.
