You are incorrect. The old PWA had no limits on the number of 70-seat aircraft Delta could operate at DCI.

What 76drvr is trying to say is that the company could have gotten unlimited 70 seat props.... even though they parked all their 70 seat props a few years ago and have no desire to get new ones.

It was good that they wrapped that clause up on the powerplant, but like most other things with the TA, the givebacks (i.e. gaining 70 jumbo RJs without having to park any 70-seat jets, which of course the company wants) make good effort on outweighing the gains.

I might be easily convinced to trade in all 325 jumbo RJs for unlimited ATR 72s. :D

The real qestion is why did we get a fast tracked contract. The RJs don't fully explain it - unless...

You tell us since you think you've got it figured out.

It sure as hell didn't have anything to do with 717s.

Splain us how smart you are.

Note that the projected fleet count is well below what it would have had to be for DCI to get 70 more jumbo RJs.

88 growth airplanes? Nope! Only a few more than what we had when we merged.

Are you sure about that? I count 791 as the number that would authorize 70 more 76-seat RJs. But math in public is hazardous. So what number do you get to that would authorize 70 more 76-seat RJs?

Of course under the old contract they could immediately park the mainline airplanes after delivery and there was no block hour ratio.

70 seat RJs were not unlimited. They were included in the 255 cap as a large RJ is defined as 51-76 seats.

Pay attention, read your old contract, then comeback with the right answer to how many 70-seat aircraft the company could operate under the old PWA.

Yup. He sure missed on that one.

Not debunked at all. The fact is they had unlimited capacity available to them at DCI. They had unlimited 70-seat aircraft available to them at DCI. The fact that your narrow view of scope hinders your ability to recognize that doesn't debunk those facts.
