Ditto... DTW HND is gone, so its in my interest ( and all of ours) to take a couple minutes and do it.

One thing that has not been mentioned in this debate is: Having the membership vote for the Master Chairman but they reps having the ability to recall. Recall does not necessarily have to reside with the rank in file pilots.
There is a LOT of bureaucratic intertia that goes along with that. For committee heads, there needs to be a vetting process that goes beyond "here is the guy I want, you need to confirm him". We do that for the big stuff (merger, NC, etc), but it should be extended to every committee. I lets a little air into the process, and you might get some really smart people step up who don't have their ticket punched. Nu |

There is almost as many fifi departures out of there as DTW... but only 1/4 the amount of pilot slots. :( Sure would like to see some more love for ATL fifi in the coming bids. I can hold a line on the ATL ER and 737, but am 20% away from holding one on fifi.
Or have you adopted my saying, "if it's Boeing, I ain't going!" ;) |
Nevermind, it won't matter in two weeks anyway... :)

Why not bid ATL ER? Same base, a reg line, and a pay increase?

Worth posting. Go get it done if you haven't. It's about pilot jobs no displacements etc.
Item 1. Haneda. *Other airlines are trying to take our Haneda route. *Those other airlines are all making the case that they deserve the route we are simply trying to move from Detroit to Seattle. *The loss of this route will mean less domestic pilots needed to feed the route, and less international pilots to fly the route, it will mean less international flying in the Pacific, and less revenue and profit sharing. * DOT Chairman Ray LaHood will make the decision shortly, and there is a great deal of organized opposition to Delta retaining this route. Please go today to*Capwiz*and do your part to help retain these jobs for Delta pilots. *Do it today. *Click on the*Capwiz*link to do your part saving this route for Delta. |
FWIW, a pretty decent chunk of those slots are now mainline. Still far below what we were led to believe, but it's sure better than the initial.
Besides, no RJ can do SEA-HND, and I haven't seen drop tanks big enough to enable Alaska to do it. |

The last time DAL asked us to lobby for them, they had this glowing and rosey picture of more slots and jobs for mainline, most on here were pontificating about the possiblity of hiring....for LGA slots, then we we got the deal done....90% of the slots went to RJ's. Who's to say that if we lobby for them again and we get/retain the HND slot...we don't have a codeshare partner fly the route, or sign a new deal with yet another codeshare/outsourcing partner and have the cheaper labor fly it??? Cathay, Evergreen, KAL...ect? I get paid to fly airplanes, they get paid to run the airline. It's THIER job to get the flying, not mine. Lucy has moved the football one too many times for Charlie to fall for it again. If it's in MY interest, then Alpa-Pac can lobby for us...I already pay them too.

This one is a no brainier. It keeps block hes for our pilots. On LGA everyone was ****ed at the first wave. As we move out more and more is becoming mainline. Not perfect by a long shot but the two are apples and oranges. This is WB flying. Extrapolate the WB block hrs lost for a year. |
