As for enjoying the view, he had 2+ hrs to enjoy the view...albeit from inside the capsule. I think most humans that are staring possible death from 128,000' will just get it over with.... However... when Apollo 8 went around the moon, when they saw earthrise for the first time, they stopped everything and looked at home... I'm not minimizing the accomplishment at all.. I just thought it interesting that he is in a position that no other human will be in for a long long time.. and he didn't stop to smell the roses. The romantic in me would have. |

In social circles, it may not be politically correct. However, it is likely both anatomically and body chemistry correct. IMO, whether you were an astronaut, especially an early astronaut or a guy in a spacesuit about to do a supersonic parachute jump, the descriptor fits well. |
