Not everyone wants/needs all that time and some people want the money to meet financial obligations. This ain't a country club.

As quoted from my previous handler: "Shut up and fly."

PS - I make 200% more and have 200% more time off than I did three years ago. Careful how entitled you sound with these comparisons. We're trying to raise the bar aren't we?

Wow.

Miss trip parking?

should we demand the right to sell vacations? imagine how much that could be worth!?

I know Donald Trump probably thinks $220,000 a year is chump money, but out in the real world there are only a few forum spinners that would refer to that as bankruptcy wages.

The question is not whether we need to continue to raise our wages and benefits, the question is how. Right now, there is no one succeeding at raising the bar like Delta is. 35% in four years and you guys dismiss it as if it is nothing. On average Delta pilots have gained over 40% in four years that is 10+% per year. That is forum spin and completely ignores the real world that we actually live in.

So while you guys preach all or nothing, you completely ignore how the all or nothing crowd has achieved...............nothing. If you had a batter that was hitting .400 and one that was batting .000 who would you take batting lessons from. Oh right, the one without a hit.

Alfa;

Man o man! You've been on the receiving end often, so I get your reaction to anything that questions anything.

Would it be safe to assume that your adult life experience may have followed this path: maybe you went to a service academy, served in the military, came to Delta and continued there until the present? Not that there is anything wrong with that. Most people would consider it admirable.

I have no empathy, granted, but Boomer is recently unemployed from Comair after a 9 year stint as an FO and you are questioning his "living in the real world?"

In my real world, in 2007 a 2x4 stud cost 1.40. Today, it is pushing $3. I remember once when a gallon of regular gas used to have a price that started with a 1 in 2007. Underreported federal inflation/ CPI doesn't make your "real world" real.

If your pay had to buy 2x4s and gas and you got a $50k raise...Amigo, you took a pay cut.

UAL
Total Operating Revenue: $9.909B
Total Operating Expense minus special charges: $9.195B
Total Operating Income minus special charges: $714M

DAL
Total Operating Income: $9.923B
Total Operating Expenses minus special charges: $8.615B
Total Operating Income: $1.308B.

Is it just me or does anyone else thing that IF UAL gets it's act together it will be a formidable competitor?

I forgot to respond to Doug.

Yes, my team does suck. :o

in a two year span we got to see the greatest QB in CFB and best Auburn team in school history followed by the worst of both.

Hey Alfa,

Could you please provide how many DAL pilots are actually making 220k per year....uh, maybe exclude the veteran trip parkers, and Carl. :D

Thank you,
BG

What about the expiration of the Bush tax cuts though? A 33% increase in capital gains will have an effect as people capture gains this year to avoid paying the additional taxes next year...

Slow,

First off, thanks for answering my earlier request. I can't keep up on everyone's ignore list. Second, you claim to have the answer to what was offered as a last gasp for comair. I don't have that info. Why answer the posters question with another question unless your just pulling my leg? Do you really know the answer? If you do then why don't you share? Right now it looks like your just trying to start a forum fight of he said she said. Doesn't really help with your credibility on this issue.

Btw, I may have 38%er as my tag line but I sure am happy to be here. I'm just feeling nostalgic for the pay of old. It's healthy to have folks argue for more. Keeps the reps on their toes. Looking out the window and soaking up a healthy dose of reality is definitely required from both sides of the issues we face.

I thought their net quarterly profit was $6M (after $454M for a new pilot agreement and $60M in merger costs).

United Continental profit falls, shares down | Reuters

They will be a huge competitor.
