So here we are in Moscow partying with a 40 year old Singapore Airlines 777-300ER captain. ***. Our airline blows!!

My regional airline buddies are 777 Captains now, after they "failed" to get hired at Delta in 2007. You can imagine how enthralled they are to hear my stories of flying the MD88 to Jackson, MS.

Of course, I'd better stop before Alpha comes along and tells me to go join them.

Seriously, though...

If I were in your shoes, I would probably go. Why wouldn't you? Why wouldn't you go to where your prospects are best?

The Russians don't care if the airport is flooded.

Most of the advise in the follow on posts given to you is wrong. What you need to do is call crew scheduling and have them credit back the amount you lost for Oct from Nov. You can spill back up to the amount that was originally on your line for Oct.

Thanks Sailing. That doesn't sound too different from using the bank. I'll probably just keep my 56 hour October, and get a big November check. It all works out the same...

CVG;

I agree with you. I would have already been gone if my wife would go with me. I don't want to be a bachelor expat commuting back to the family.

However, I did meet 2 ex-RAH guys in asia flying for airlines in China. One was making $270 clear - his airline paid his income tax. The other was making $220K 3 weeks on 3 off on an erj-135.

I've flown with FOs and Capts who have been lining up their duckies to head to Asia - China specifically. Time will tell if they pull their various triggers.

I also met an A-380 Capt who couldn't have been more than 35 years old.

I would still call DALPA. It may be that you are due the 65 hour line guarantee. I don't know. They can tell you. If you are due the guarantee then don't spill the time back. If not I would spill it back. Why be a bank for the company and give them a interest free loan? You might also see a dream trip in open time in Nov you might want to have. You never know it might have a 48 hour layover where you live or something. Not spilling back would prevent the pickup.

Most insurance policies contain a exclusion for named storms on a high value moveable asset.

Thanks Sailing. I'll give them a call.
