Feeling a bit more fringe today, Bar? Yikes.... This is up there with some of your more paranoid and out there posts! (see, NERD, it's possible to disagree with someone on the internet without turning yourself inside out and blowing a fuse) I burned leaves today and at least increased carbon levels in the neighborhood. |

So if she did a firmware update (or something similar) she should expect better performance?

So, a 737-800 packed to the gills and on time has to wait for an inbound Alaska flight and a Great Lakes Brasilia that aren't even here yet. Glad we can be so accommodating to other airlines pax. Our Delta pax weren't so happy burning on the taxiway for 40 minutes. I'm sure marketing has an answer but it sure doesn't seem like we're doing right by OUR passengers. |

Flew from MIA to LAX today and landed precisely in our "arrival window." Our scheduled gate was 67. As I was braking and exiting the high speed, we got a gate change ACARS message to a gate that was occupied by a Frontier jet. Our gate, 67, was empty at the time. We called the ramp and asked why our gate had been changed to one that was occupied from one that was currently empty. The answer: there's an inbound Alaska flight which will now get our original gate. OK, how about another gate since Frontier isn't scheduled to push for 30 minutes? No, a Great Lakes Brasilia, inbound, gets the other empty one.

I burned leaves today and at least increased carbon levels in the neighborhood. Capacity discipline was not an NW thing. You need to research your history better. What we are seeing with the AF/KL code share is running closer and closer to what NW did with that trend will continue to accelerate. I would agree with you if you had stated it that way. I don't like it, but that's what they are doing. As far as the global warming thing, you've lived in GA long enough to know better than what you stated about having a 70 degree day in Nov. It's going to be below average by as much in the coming week. Would you care to blame that on Global Cooling? |

Would this be worth an FCR write-up to report a stupid decision as viewed from the front line? Maybe someone higher up will exercise some common sense and fix this for future crews.
Speaking of- with the new gates in BWI, it appears many of the issues there have been corrected. |

Yeah, we're on it. The CA called the Terminal 6 gate "manager" and chewed his ass for awhile. Why all the angst about D+0 and landing windows if all of our en route efforts come down to some guy trying to weigh the impacts of us being on time with other carriers being late? We ended up being late because the other carriers were late.
I've often wondered what would happen if we just rolled into an empty gate. What are they going to do? Fire you? "We had a medical issue with a passenger..." should take care of any discussion. Now, get an agent and open the damn door! The morons that run ACS never cease to amaze me. |
