ACL, check your PM...

Are the DTW 7ER trips going to be primarily to Asia, Europe & SA, or all the above. Any guesses.

What about a resolution?

How would you know if they are interested or not? :(

Sources stating that ER DTW may be on hold as well as a lot of other plans. Opportunities may be missed if we have to big of a training foot print. Might just be a few openings and 100 displacements.

Looking at first joint AE shortly after the new year bell tolls.

Or something like that for the T34C

Or, for those of us who had T-28s as a primary trainer: "thumbs up from the plane captain, fire bottle manned, prop arc clear, ready to start, sir!" Or, if anything happened airborn, (such as the instructor pulling the power..."you have an engine failure, what are you going to do?!")....you had 90% of the problem solved if you could just remember: "set the mixture rich, and head toward a field" (although there might have been something about moving the prop lever full increase....or was it decrease!??? opening the engine cowl flaps, etc.)....that was a very sweatty time, primary training at Whiting Field in the venerable T-28B Trojan...circa late 70's early 80's...

That was a lot of airplane to handle if you jumped in one off the streets with no prior time....fourteen hundred and twenty-five horses chomping at the bits.... 16 dual instructed fam flights before the first solo...

I've got 1 hour logged in the T28A with only 800 ponies up front that was a sweet ride,I can only imagine 1425 !

Yeah, all those ponies with 48 inches of manifold air pressure would just as soon spin the airplane in the opposite direction of the prop, so on takeoff you had to stomp on enough rudder to 'break an airbus tail off' to keep it going straight.. The B model (land based) had the 10 foot diameter prop, while the C model with the same power had a tailhook and a chopped off prop for carrier clearance that reduced performance and increased vibrations, from what I heard..(never flew the C model)

Anyone for "Single Engine Off the Catapult?" (Except A7 guys)

-10 degrees nose up pitch not to exceed 14 units AOA
- Counter roll and yaw with rudder supplemented with lateral stick
- Positive rate - gear up
- Emergency Stores - Jettison (if req)

Couldn't tell you where I flew two weeks ago, but I still remember "Plaintiff one's" and "Plaintiff two's" birthdays and anniversaries. The trick is not to get them mixed up!!!:D

My apologies if my question regarding DTW caused a stir. Certainly did not mean anything by it.:o

Cheers, TC

How about ...

Crew-Canopy-Cords-Harnesss-Crouch-Dive-Pull (if you have time) Slow-Low-Squawk and Talk-Shutoff Engine-Turn
