However- the every 15 minutes thing is ridiculous and needs to be addressed. It should be more generic like our callout times- as new information is available. There needs to be common sense applied, and that bulletin fails in that area.

If the company is requiring that I be someplace, in uniform, at a specific time, and do something besides fly a plane, then I need to be paid for doing that job, and it needs to be in the contract.

If the union can't or won't weigh in on our behalf, we need another dues reduction

At the regional I flew for, every PA had to begin with "Well, folks, sorry about...."

I agree, though I apply it a tad differently. I never apologize for something I couldn't control, however I do apologize for the inconvenience.

I could take the Stanley Hudson (from the Office) technique: I don't apologize. If you don't like it, you can leave. That's what I told my ex-wife, tell my current wife, and will tell my future wives as well."

Default True Confession

Okay, I'll admit that I have made a PA at the gatehouse in the distant past. The agent was about to be assaulted and I stepped in to stop the impending riot. Emergency action only.

Emergency action does not rise to past practice. I'll be at Starbucks. Let me know if there's a riot. I may or may not help.

And so you'll be intentionally violating the FOM. You may or may not be called on the carpet for that. And the many new hires we're about to get could face termination.

This isn't the old Delta, slap on the back have a nice day. I don't ever want to be in a position where I'm explaining myself to the CP these days. Hey, good time to review sick usage and uniform inspection though, right? Yeah, that'll never come back to bite us either.

What's this about uniform inspections?

DALPA's asleep at the switch (yet again).

Standby for sailingfun's usual attempt to condition us that it's not DALPA's job to do anything on our behalf.

Nah. I press my shirt and even slap some wax on my shoes. Sometimes I even wear the hat.

I just don't like these pretty obvious power grabs/status quo-changing acts by management going unchecked by DALPA (and the widget-aid guzzlers).

Do you think the company would stand by idly if we attempted to "fly the contract and only the contract?" Hell no, they'd scream bloody murder and look for a court order to preserve the status quo.

I'd like to see "my" union at least give lip service to fighting the company's latest attempts to run roughshod over the status quo. Preferably before these newly crafted harassment-like policies become the new status quo.
