No, but calling your rep and providing input is an effective way of indicating a concern. Seems to have worked for that button on the on board video that was a great topic of conversation a few weeks ago eh?

The "Fly" button is still showing to our passengers on the airplanes as of yesterday when I deadheaded on a 757.

No, according ACL65.

Your admin advocates for this pilot group and individual pilots all of the time. They are probably doing that now on a lot of issues. My point is, let your reps know, let the admin know your feelings if you must. The Reps can call the admin up and tell them that this or that is causing an issue. The VC is generally the one that liaisons with the company and would be the one talking to Ft Ops about an issue like this. If a Rep got a good amount of e-mails about it, it may be enough for them to have a conversation with the admin who then in turn would go do the company.

We both know that if the admin unilaterally did something they would be accused of going around the reps and the pilots they represent.

Ask your reps to suggest a change from "should" to "may." In either case it does not say "will."

Tell your CPO too.

I understand your are not happy with this policy. Make that known to the pilot(s) that represent you. They may be able to provide some more color on the issue to solidify your concern, or perhaps change your opinion a little bit. No promises, just a suggestion.

Takes time to change all of those out. They did change the YouTube and videos on the Net really quickly. FWIW. 720 jets of which probably 600 use demo videos.

Not to mention the conection flights that still say "Delta" not "Delta connection". It does still happen from time to time. This is where flyallnite's concern is valid and re-inforced...Once done, it is difficult to undo.

However, with the gatehouse PA, isn't the real issue the (appearance of) mandate rather than whether it is or isn't a good/bad idea?

If you are referring to the Westin Diplomat for the BOD, from what I am told, it is expensive and was booked years ago. The requirement is that it be at a pro union hotel, which this one is. Never been to a BOD, but I talked to a few reps about the perception and they explained the reasoning with the info they had.

If you think it is "dumb" for a labor union to support another labor union though its policy of supporting the hotels that are organized, so be it. Let your reps know, and if you feel strongly enough about it, write a resolution requesting a change to the policy.

Just curious, does our union publicly support other unions who avoid flying Delta because our maintenance is not organized?

DCI carriers got the gatehouse PA policy as well!

I guess now you cannot get written up for doing a gate agents job and making a PA in the gate house :D
