What are the thoughts on the VA JV? Looks like they can increase VA departures from 14 to 21, and DL can cut ours from 7 to 6.75. If they cut below that, it's ok because they have until 1 Apr 14 to reach compliance. If they don't, we'll be really really mad at them and not appreciate it at all. If they still don't, we will try to work out a new LOA. If they still don't, we'll give them just one more chance. And if they still don't, be ready because we will grieve the issue!

We will soon be married to the Virgins...so in a literal sense it's pretty good

It's better than nothing, which is exactly what the company is obliged to give us with this JV. Glad they at least worked something out. I hope the JV helps us compete in that market with UAL and Quantas, both tough competitors. I do wonder what the future holds wrt the Virgin brand and possible DL links.

Last I checked dal wasn't the military. The first pa I ever practiced was in new hire class...I don't see that as sad...I had however, prior to then, briefed many many many times.

Insubordination would involve not following a lawful order...the point of this (borderline ridiculous) discussion is whether the order is lawful.

We did a version of PAs when briefing crews, generals, and squadrons, except never from behind the counter in the gate area--that environment is extremely intimidating!!!

The pilots not wearing the hat are the ones who have a different background than you, is that about right? Too funny.

Actually, have you ever seen a female pilot not wearing the hat? Must be a guy thing--in fact, since those guys must be different from me I'm guessing they all are trying to compensate for something.

But I think you're on to something: military folks always wore their hats. But their leaders did as well. So we just need RA and the boys to start wearing management uniforms with hats and set the example. All will be right with the world.

I just don't get it.
Virgin gets 21 flights a week and we get 7.
The population of the US is 310 million. The population of Australia is 22 million.

Why would we agree to this? Why does Delta agree to this?

Who said Delta isn't the military? I got his uniform right here.
