Ha, well its a business expense, and one that could be depreciated. My kids are already eying it as a future acquisition.

If there is anything to this and DAL pulls it off it may in fact be a major strategic win for us in the long run.
If this announcement had changed the name from Delta to UAL the same pilots on here complaining would be complaining that our management and DALPA had not insured we would be the buyers and we are now screwed for a million different reasons.

What an astounding tone change now that you know you're going to be more accountable for your words.

Seriously, well written.

Lets not worry. Lets bake instead. There is nothing to be afraid of in the kitchen. This looks like a Turkey at first glance. But here we've been baking Turkeys for years and we know how to take a Turkey and make it disappear. (que Clapping from Sailing and friends in the studio audience .... )

In honor of our English friends, we shall deem the recipe defensive meat pudding. ( Audience inhales with eager anticipation ... commercial break)

Begin with a MD90, or 737-800 order; add Comair & yeast. Bake for ten years. See how it turns out. (clapping ...)

or

For spice, take a cup of Delta, add half a pickled Pan Am. For Fig Newton a' la Northwest, wrap a sweet soft cookie of Biscoff around a Northwest core. Double the price you charge and make the customer pay for the bag! ( standing ovations ... Sailing passes out on the front row and, could it be, is that Al Gore is fanning him with a old Northeast route map ? )

The cool thing about all of these defensive confections is that they are gone in no time. The competition just eats them up.

If you missed last week's show "Cooking with Left Overs" please order our Beta Max tape. In that show we take a jet from 1962 and line it with blue leather to make a Douglas Eclair! Instead of the usual 3,000 copies, we have only made 4 of last week's show. By reducing supply we intend to increase revenue. So, if you have a Betamax player with good vertical hold and a million bucks, call now!

( Close to Al Gore praising Delta's cooking ... " as a result of Delta's ability to cook down Turrkeys, they've reduced the carbon output of Comair, Pan Am, Western, Northwest, Northeast, Song and Huff Deland Dusters by nearly 100%" fade to black with Al Gore smiling as he walks towards his personal Gulfstream 650 flown by a former Delta crew )

.... and please understand the above was written in jest ... some folks take me seriously. While it is my preference Delta invest in Delta to make money, this might be brilliant strategic thinking on the part of our leadership.

Gents, neither my thread-search nor PWA-search fu is up to snuff. Would one of you mind helping me out and showing me where I can find out what I need to know about jury duty (like, whether DAL pays me and how much)?

This is the first time I have commented on either the VA TA or this rumored deal.
